There's gotta be some money behind this somewhere. It's amazing what they can get away with. They've burned Bernie and now Warren. Maybe this was payback for making them waste money running against Bernie.

Elizabeth Warren? I'm surprised it hadn't stipulated payments in trinkets and wampum.

Some on social media have claimed she's a GOP plant. The old "trojan horse" tinfoil hat theory.

Given that she was in charge when Dems had the largest wave against them in their history, so I guess she did help the GOP :D

And those people fail to realize that both parties are the corporate party with two separate wings....

I'm not going to defend Wasserman-Schultz on this one. It really does, from a consumer-protection standpoint, seem pretty slimy.

The payday loan business in this country is revolting. Its fueled by the all-but shattered social safety net. Desperate people paying off a 300% APR loan by taking out one with terms that are even worse.

Maybe she has a rationale. But what it might be, I simply can't tell you.

John Oliver did a bit on payday loans at one point a few months back. It's not unheard of for certain types of provisions to lack the rate up into the 2100% range.

    That's ****ing criminal.
