    Hi,

Since about Beta 9 (and still today on 11.0.1) I've found that unlocking my iPad Pro 9.7" takes about four or five seconds, whereas it used to be instant. So after I enter my fingerprint or passcode I still see the lock screen with nothing apparently happening, and then finally after some seconds go by I get the Home screen. I also find there's a fairly decent chance that an attempt to unlock my device will trigger a respring. This all started round about Beta 9 as I say - prior to this unlocking was virtually instantaneous, as it had been in all previous versions of iOS.

Just wondered if anyone else was experiencing this ? I'm loathe to try a full reset on my device if I don't have to, and still have some hope that a future 11.1 release might sort this. But if no-one else is experiencing it then it probably is just something that's gone awry on my own device, and a reset may well be in its future.

Being that your device was used on betas, there could be left over beta junk or corruption causing your issues. Best thing to do is restore as new. Pretty much avoid using betas unless you are willing to restore as new once the beta cycle is complete. Its the best way to prevent corruption issues.

Me and my wife are having this issue on iOS 11 and 11.0.1 on our iPhone 7s. Often when I unlock a device it doesn’t respond, the haptic responds to my click but the devices remain a black screen and I ha e to wait 3-15 seconds before it responds.

Can’t believe no one else has this issue, it’s happenjng to me at least a dozen times each day since iOS 11. We didn’t install beta either.

I’ll have to ask my kids if their 6S and SE are locking up.

The only issue I had with unlocking is the fact that rest-to-unlock is glitchy. Sometimes it requires a second press of the home button, but definitely no black screen delay or the lock screen freezing.

    Hi,

As a final follow-up, a DFU mode iTunes restore did indeed sort this for me. Luckily I was able to restore my encrypted iTunes backup afterwards without the problem coming back, so the act of just doing a low-level re-install of the OS seems to have sorted it without me having to set the iPad up as new. Nice and smooth and fast everywhere again, no resprings so far, and unlocking almost the instant my finger touches the sensor.
