I was lucky. I was like oh ****... it's past midnight at like 12:30 last night. Got my pre-order in just fine on the apple store app and got in the 21st delivery group.
I fell a sleep but set my alarm for 3 hoping that the servers would be a little better as the biggest rush would be over with.
AT&T's site was horrible, but Apple's worked fine.
The store was down for me as well last night, however, the App Store app on the iPhone works wonders. I am going to get it on launch day! I was actually thinking about ordering later today because I remembered with the new iPad there wasn't such a big delay, but I'm glad I ordered it when I did.
I misread it. Oct 5.

Yeah but what can we do? I ordered at 3:10am. Oh well, its still nice knowing I won't have to wait in the long line.
Lots of time to order accessories. Besides, I'm sure activating it on 9/21 will be a nightmare.
That's weird.. I ordered last night and it showed 2 weeks shipping but checked this morning and was bumped up to deliver 9/21.
How can yours be pushed even further back when the website still shows 2 weeks?

Could be different model or different carriers or even colors. There's a lot of different SKU's now.
just checked my order too, and it shows oct 2nd. went from ships the 21st when i ordered around 4am set, then somehow changed to "2 weeks" and now 10/2
has anyone contacted apple?
Could also be by state. Who knows. But now AT&T pre-orders are showing 3-5 weeks. I'll gladly take Oct 5th for delivery. Hopefully they're just putting worst case scenarios on certain orders right now.
Perhaps it doesn't go by time ordered. If it did mine would definitely have the 21st delivery date.

Thats what I ended up doing, got my order in at 12:24a. Exact same thing that happened last time.

I thought earlier you said when you submitted it the site said 2 weeks. Right now my order is showing as "processing" but still says delivery on the 21st.

Where did you order from ? Apple.com? ATT? VZW? Sprint? What time did you order? Time Zone?
Any idea how long you have to cancel an order? I'm hoping it's until it ships. Since I got pushed back to the oct 5 date too, I went and reserved a preorder at Walmart. I'm #2 on their list, but I have a suspicion they won't have 32's in stock (they only had 16's at launch last year). If they do surprise me with a 32, I'll want to cancel my order with Apple Friday AM.
So, wondering if you think my order will still be eligible to cancel if it hasn't shipped.
