Book 'em. Choking a man, while yelling at him isn't attempting to subdue. It's assault in my book. If he had kept quiet, then I would consider it attempting to subdue the other guy. Taunting while the other guy is helpless? Come on man.

I have subdued a violent person without resorting to choke holds. I don't used choke holds anymore since there is a high risk of damaging the other guy's trachea. Hammer lock, get him on the ground and sit. Unless he's a trained fighter, he ain't breaking that hold. Against a trained fighter, I would back off. I'm a coward adverse to pain.;)

Manslaughter seems to be a reasonable charge.

Improperly applied carotid control can result in death. I doubt he was trained beyond tv and fight night.

There's too many variables in play. Without knowing Texas law and the details of the incident it's very difficult for anyone to have much of an opinion beyond an emotional reaction.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Lock him up. I'm getting so sick of these chokehold death stories.

And the wife, a cop, saying that recording it is illegal will be in serious trouble. Rightfully so.

I watched the video and I have the impression that it was her. Also, who else had interest in stopping the recording?

Whoever was attempting to block the altercation from the camera? I'm not trying to stick up for one side or the other.

And that seems to be a part that they are using against her.

"The autopsy report said Hernandez’s death was a homicide and that he died from anoxic encephalopathy caused by strangulation by chest compression, reported CNN affiliate KPRC."

Re-reading it I might be wrong. Chest compression, I was thinking CPR, video clearly shows over weight let me play deputy laying on top of the deceased.

Yeah. I still say too many unknowns. It will be up to the Grand Jury or Trial. If the rule of don't start none wont be none were followed the guy would still be alive and they would be out of jail.

I think that the wife is in serious trouble. She's a sworn officer, and by not intervening on the chokehold she allowed an aggression that resulted in death.
