So. Cal
My Desktop is set to show randomly, for 1 minute, all the photos in my Photos folder. Sometimes I see photos but can't find them in the application. How can I get the Desktop to show the file name or path thereof so that I can go find the lost photo ?

Kinda confused. This should not happen, unless there are photos stored elsewhere. Hmm.
Btw, which "applications" are you mentioning?

iMac27" MacOS 10.13.4
2 years later and I am still try to find the solution to my problem.
My desktop is set to show random photos (for 1 minute each) from my "Photos" library.
Often I see photos that I would like to delete or at least not have them shown on Desktop.
There are often photos that I can't find in "Photos"
My last "Windows" on a previous PC had the option to show path & file name of those random desktop photos.

Please advise regarding finding those photos that appear on Desktop.
