My wife used an android phone and I actually ended up buying her an iPhone so we could airdrop photos to each other, use iMessage etc and whilst she says she's not that bothered I know she prefers it over her old android device and she uses it all the time!

So along comes an Apple watch, I bought one for myself and also decided to buy one for my wife, again she tried one on in store (because I made her!) and she loved it but she wouldn't get one because she already has a fitbit that does everything she needs..

So it's a surprise at the moment and I know she'll love it when it arrives. I'm just curious, are your partners just as excited as you are about the apple watch? did they buy their own or did you buy it just to send them your heartbeat, crudely drawn pictures etc...

How about any other Apple tech?

Yep. My wife, son and I each carry iPhones. My wife saw me selecting an AW and was intrigued. That meant goodbye 42 SB and hello 42 SS CB and 38 Sport ( for less than 1 SB :-o ). Coincidentally, initial AW deliveries were on her birthday, so that worked out well. She is not a gadget gal and prefers things to 'just work'. So this was new territory for her. She is more corporate than I am and uses her phone for a lot more communications than I do. The ability to manage a lot of her messaging from her wrist in addition to the fitness tracking services has her completely sold on the AW. It's definitely found its way into her daily work flow
Incidentally, we are a PC household. We have at least 6 PCs running and possibly that many more in parts in the garage. The fact that we are really integrated into the iOS world convinced me to get a Mac Mini when it came time to replace an old second string Core Duo. I put windows on as a dual boot option. Turns out my wife and daughter have yet to ask to be shown how to start up windows and have completely taken to the OS X environment. It's even my go to machine for casual use, for obvious reasons. My son prefers the main rig which is a high end gaming/modeling PC, but that's no surprise ;-)

She said she doesn't want it.
I do buy her watches but I guess the Apple watch isn't the prettiest watch.

Yep. I've worn watches since I was a teenager, so it was natural to get one for myself. My wife does not wear watches at all (except to run with), so I wasn't going to get her one unless she was interested.

On May 23, we visited our local Apple store. At that point, I still had not received my watch yet that I had ordered in late April. She played with a watch on display, and once she looked at the fitness tracking aspect of it (she's an avid runner who cranks out 100+ miles a month) she was very interested. I ordered one for her when we came home, and she received it yesterday.

She read up enough last night to know this probably will not replace her dedicated GPS running watches, but the other tracking aspects of the Apple watch has her hooked already.

No to mention you can send your heartbeat to her and draw dirty drawings

My daughter, wife and I all have an AW. My son mocks us, but sooner or later he will want one...

Before I sold my 42mm sport Space Gray, I asked my wife if she would like to have the watch, She said no, that she didn't like it. So Yesterday we went to the apple store to buy a sport band for my new 42mm SS and she starts looking at the watches and then she told me: "that gold one looks nice, I wouldn't mind that watch as a birthday present" ... Then I showed her the price online and she couldn't believe it.

Yes - 42mm SS for me, and a 38mm Sport for my wife. Hers actually arrived a week before mine, so had to hide it! Couldn't have her playing with it before I got mine...!

I did not buy one for my husband yet- he gets impatient when technology runs slowly. But once there are native apps he will probably want one. :)

In our HH we've got 3 iPhones (one each), 3 iPads (one each), 3 Macbooks (Pro, Air and white - you can guess who's got what), an assortment of old iPods, an Apple TV, an Airport Extreme.... so getting the watches came almost natural :). Wife has had her 38mm SS way before my 42mm SG arrived.

My husband made fun of me when I ordered my Apple Watch, then he watched a few of Apple's watch videos with me and really wanted one.

So I ordered one for his birthday. It just came last Friday and he loves it. He said he need it but it has at least $700 of entertainment value.

We both love new tech gadgets and are sending digital touch and heart beats to each other.

Yes, I did. But, she doesn't know it yet!

I bought my husband an Apple Watch for his anniversary gift. I preordered his and mine on preorder eve. I bought my eldest (adult) son one in May, because he really liked it and he's got a June birthday. I swapped out my watch and my daughter decided she really liked it and asked if she could have it. So, I gave it to her.

My middle son is the only person in our house without one. ;)

And I suspect he'll get one. Just a feeling I have.

No, my husband is not the gadget freak that I am. Probably just as well, think of the money we save! He does have an iPhone, but other than talk and text he mostly uses it to play solitaire. He also has no interest in the fitness aspects of the watch.

Bought my girlfriend one. She doesn't know it yet. Should be here today. At first she show no interest in the watch. I put an order in for mine and then went to play on the demos in store. She started to mess with it. Then tells me that on her lunch break at the mall she went back play with it again and try a fitting. Seemed like she was interested so I ordered one... Sad part is shes getting Her watch before me. :(

I ordered my wife a 38mm Sport GSB for our anniversary...it gets delivered today and she still has no idea!

She said she wasn't sure she wanted one, but every time I figured out something new with mine she would be as excited as I was....so I figured it was a sign and ordered one for her.

I'm going to pick up a 38mm Sport w/ White Sport band for the wife when stores actually have stock. Of course the wife wants sport bands in different colors to match her outfits. :)

My husband and I both ordered watches on 04/10, different models, and they were both delivered on Monday! I think I like it more than he does. I do get heartbeats from him occasionally (I can't really do it, it just makes a sketch when I try :( ) and I keep trying to sketch a dick to send to him but I haven't drawn a good one yet. I wish there was a Send option for sketches so I don't have to send it every time I mess up.
