Separate names with a comma.

Neither. Name it whatever you want. How others name theirs has no bearing on what works for you.
That's one item that I always change to something else during the new user setup, then the file sharing name (which is the computer's name on the network), then the local hostname. Just my opinion that none of of those should remain the defaults at the whim of the OS X system. Those are MY names, so I change them.
I just think it's a little goofy to see a name on the network like "Billy's MacBook".
I prefer "The Abyss" - but that's just me
What's funny is I change all mine to say "Billy's MacBook", even on my desktops and iPhones, and my name's not Billy!
Well, that's exactly the point I was making, dyt1983, aka "not Billy"
You are, despite your modest attempt to hide your identity, changing the name to something that you choose, eh? And, that's a Good Thing
I agree. But it does get confusing when I look in the bonjour device list...
And - you know how to fix that minor annoyance, eh?
Yes. I learned a lot from this thread!
