My parents bought a Samsung DLP Tv from Circuit City about 14 months ago and they have one free bulb replacement included. Since Circuit City is awesome and going out of business my parents called and said they wont be able to honor their bulb replacement policy after January 1st. The Circuit City rep said that our bulb has to be burning out though and that our TV will display a message stating that the bulb needs to be replaced. Does anyone who owns a Samsung know if this is true or not?

Also, I am pretty good with electronics myself. Is it difficult to replace a bulb in a DLP Tv on your own?

I just bought a used Sammy DLP a few days ago. I believe there is a panel you remove, and the bulb is located behind it. You should be able to replace it yourself. :)

You could try turning the TV on and off repeatedly trying to burn out the bulb or attempt to buy a dead bulb and get them to replace that one.
