I unplugged my Iphone 3gs this morning at 730. It is now 4pm.......I have the following on:

    Push
    3G
    No wifi
    No games played
    Browsed lightly
    10 minute phone call
    20-30 sms
    alot of Aim talk

    My current info is:

    Usage- 4 hours, 43 minutes
    Standby- 8 Hours, 27 minutes

    Im currently at 33%

Does this sound right? Or do i need to call up apple for a replacement?

    New iphone 3GS battery life

Just got my phone and had similar issue. Got online and did all of the things Apple suggested, such as turning off Push and so on. Talked for about 2.5 hours without 3G activated and the battery was down to 33% on a full charge. Also not sure if I should take it back.

Love to hear if anyone else is having the same issue, and what to do to fix it. I miss my old 3G phone!

I'm confused (doesn't take much). If I am reading your stats correctly, the phone has over 13 hours since the last full charge, with almost 5 hours of usage. How does that add up from 7:30 to 4:00 ? What am I missing?

Push is probably whats draining your battery.

From everything I've seen, it seems like the usage hours are included in the standby hours. It's 8 1/2 hours from 7:30 am to 4 pm... and the OP said that standby was 8:27.

You need to cycle your battery a few times before it'll keep a charge properly. First charge all the way and then let it totally discharge. Do that once a month or so to calibrate the battery There's some threads on here about it.

Not for a 3GS whose battery is operating normally though.
