Nope, but if you’re using a 3rd party case then I would expect the charging current to be less than if it was a MagSafe case, ie slower.
I got a MagSafe case regardless just so I have the option later on.

No. It will still charge With most thinner 3rd party cases but will not clip into place with the magnet.

You should be fine using a third party case. As long it isn't too thick.
