Are there bugs or performance issues with iOS 18 or does it overall seem better than iOS 17.7?

Mail has ruined more than I thought possible. I can't work on the go out and about anymore.
Have to be at desk to download mail with attachments. iOS18 won't download all attachments from work, I had no problem with any of it before. No idea what they've done but it's not good

I got a 16PM so that question is void but no, I don‘t regret it. I mainly updated for RCS support, don‘t really care about any camera or photos app changes or all the other things people complain about.

It seems completely fine, and to my surprise, my battery life seems better.

(though it did seem weirdly bad under iOS 17)

  • CarPlay wireless is ruined for me (aftermarket Pioneer system, which now disconnects and reboots unless the microphone is disabled - works fine wired and worked wireless in the 18 betas)
  • Dark icons are still in my Settings app and Share sheet even though I want light icons like before.
  • Many things feel unfinished and there was a definite feeling that no one at Apple was listening. The Feedback app is useless for betas now.
I don't regret the update, but I think Apple should regret doing updates annually. They can't keep up this pace.

I regret expecting still too much from apple intelligence. It's like Siri expectations now... so I hope that 18.2/3/4 will be what was shown at WWDC. Now on beta 18.1.

18.0 been pretty smooth across my few devices but will be very careful with upgrades given it seems it’s always a crapshoot even from one minor version to another (Imo)

iOS 18 seems like a massive diversion from the simplicity and ease of use of previous versions even in the most basic tasks so I never updated in the first place. Just more and more mess

Can you be more specific as to what features in 18 are a "massive diversion from the simplicity and ease of use of previous versions"?

Updated my 15 Plus on day 1. Just the one major bug where I lost two parts of the new control centre.

No regrets. Battery life was pretty abysmal in the beginning, but it has settled down and seem to be as good as iOS 17.6 was on my 15 Pro.

No regrets but I did have two problems - bluetooth connection to car didn't work so could not use car play. I used the new app lock feature for my financial account apps and face ID would not unlock any of them. Fixed both so it was only an irritation.
