i haven't updated to High Sierra yet. Just waiting until most of the bugs are removed.

Are they getting close?

there are always bugs, and, not everyone has the same experience. so for one person, 10.13.2 is great, and someone has has issues.

dive in when you're ready, not when some random people (like me) tell you 'the water's fine'...

10.13.1 just got released this week. It'll at least be several weeks until 10.13.2, perhaps even not until January. I don't see any rush either — what severe problems does 10.13.1 have?

Thanks guys for your responses. I usually wait for the second update on new OS before I update. How's it working for everyone?

I'm having huge issues all of a sudden with 10.13.2 so I'd be careful. 10.13.1 was fine.

I "waited" for 10.13.1 and I was treated to a kernel panic loop in the installer, and had to restore via Time Machine. So unless I get some confirmation that they specifically fixed installer bugs I'll hold out for 10.13.5 before trying again.

Really ... you have to ask that? Just scan the High Sierra threads. There are many many problems people are having with it.

You can lead a horse to a forum but I guess you can’t force him to open his eyes and read it.

Not seeing any troubles with 10.13.1 here, on iMac - MacBook - and Mac Mini. I did scan the High Sierra threads, sure there are lots of issues people see with it but nothing new there. Look at Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite... etc forums. The only issues with over 50 replies on the first page (which is a rough indicator of a "Severe" or even "Common" problem) are: Slow to boot, shuts off if in Sleep too long, and a "Verifying" dialog when opening a file (e.g. a video). I'm certainly not seeing the last 2 issues myself, and if it's taking longer than Sierra did to boot it's not something I've noticed. The iMac gets rebooted daily, the Mini once a power failure, and the MacBook only when required by an update.

But as always, your mileage may vary. Have a complete backup before installing. If you tend to run every sort of 3rd party utility you can lay your hands on, count on one of them to cause problems. Don't upgrade if restoring would be a problem (in terms of having the backup to restore, or taking the time to do it). Basic stuff.
