Okay, so a few days ago I ordered the 2020 iPad Pro with the LiDar. Apparently, there is a big shipping delay? what's going on with the iPad stock? is there any chance I can get the order expedited?!

The delivery dates these days are generally about a month. Depending on your location, some open Apple Stores still have some models available for pick up (in New England, for example). I haven't seen expedited shipping offered on them for a while. You might like to commiserate with others who are also waiting here:

Drop off in production capacities due to Covid.

COVID people are working going to school from home so higher demand! I purchased mine onlin picked it up same day apple store took several try’s because kept getting sold out.

Seems to be a pandemic going on. Welcome to 2020. Workforce haven’t been able to work... which throws production amounts off. More demand as people work/school from home. Global shipping delays on many products. COVID.

Output at Foxconn has been back to normal since late March/early April after the pandemic was contained. This a purely demand issue as Apple has mentioned during their last earnings call in July.

Basically, everyone in the world, particularly China is buying iPad for home use.

And seemingly like the family of 6 who all had iPad Pros (even the 4 year old) on my last flight within China... there are a significant number of people to whom cost is no object!

That's why I'm so disappointed also. I just bought in a rush just not to miss student discount and AirPods deal. But it seems it'll arrive around Christmas😂
