Anyone that has one of these babies....Does it still charge over firewire using the old Firewire AC Adaptor? And is it safe to do so?

(Yes, I know it cannot sync over FireWire!)

my 5g ipod works with firewire,. i dont see why it really wouldnt work. it uses the same plug, and still uses the same interface. aslong as the power supllied is similar it should be ok

Sweet, one less new accessory for me to buy! This is my first new iPod since the 3G....

Thanks for the fast responses!

Strangely enough, yes. I just plugged my FW cable in and I get the battery with the lightning bolt symbol on it. Very cool, I didn't think it would work to be honest.
