So I just finished watching the keynote, and I noticed that Steve doesn't use his iPhone like most other experienced users. When typing, Steve only used one finger instead of the more advanced, two thumb technique.

Given that, does Steve actually use an iPhone?

Maybe he wants to take his time and not screw up?

Pretty sure he's used the iPhone a lot. Afterall, it's pretty much his number 1 pride, equally with the ipod.

He's holding it and displaying it for the cameraman with his other hand. How is he supposed to use both to type?

he wants to go slow so that people can easily follow, and so that he reduces his mistakes. also, as someone said he is showing the cameraman the iphone as he holds it with one hand. it is more visible and displayed better this way

I bet he uses an iPhone. He was just going slow for the people and he had to display it.

I hate typing with the more "advanced" 2 thumbs method. I use 2 fingers on the same hand. I don't think it hurts my speed much.

He has an iPhone Air, it's 2.5mm thick.... and 3g... and has gps... and a /real/ camera...

i always wondered what computer steve used as his main computer? mac pro probably?

does he have them all?

anyways im sure he was just displaying for the camera as others have said

I use just one thumb, and I don't think it slows me much, my right hand just has much more dexterity than my left. Sometimes though I do use the 2-finger (index middle) method.

its possible he's rarely on it... a lot of ceos/coos have exc assistants to weed out the calls/load in agendas/return calls/etc. i was surprised to learn vladamir putin (russian president) does not use a phone much, no cell, and has never seen an email (his words!).

are u sure its not a blackberry?

he uses both, although his n95 is his main mobile device. :D

He uses a windoze vista-compatible dell xps and an macintosh 2... on those occasions where he needs to give his world-changing keynote speeches, he lugs his personal mac pro with him :D

True, i use my pointer and middle finger and find i can type very fast. When in landscape i do use two thumbs though.

I wonder if his personal Iphone is hacked. You know he has to have some killer apps of his personal iPhone and the only way to do that is jailbreak ( I think. )

He has the SDK already, trying out all the new apps.

what new apps the SDK has'nt been released yet so there are no apps to try.

Im going on the presumption that apple and some other companies already have the sdk and are alreay making apps for release date.

The SDK was probably out a few months ago. They have just been testing it and building apps for it, and give a guestamation of "late febuary" as he said himself at macworld.

I hope you are right I was thinking they were going to release the SDK in Feb. and then we would have to wait for the apps to be released from there. I hope I am wrong and they have new apps for the release day.

For my serious reply.
Most likely he doesn't use the iPhone, he probably uses the iPhone 2.

Now for my jokes.
He doesn't use the iPhone, he uses the iPwn.

In Soviet Russia, you don't use the iPhone, the iPhone uses you.
