So I put in a request today 9/19 at 11am to unlock my 4S on AT&T. I got an email confirmation around 1pm telling me that it was approved and that I should wait 24 hours for the unlock process to complete and that I should then restore with iTunes and the unlock is done. Ok great. Now my question is, tomorrow I'm going to try and get the 5s as soon as AT&T opens up. If I manage to get the 5s in store, will my 4S still be able to be unlocked later in the day? You know, since it won't be tied to my account anymore.

yes unlock request uses your IEMI number through Apples servers ... when you restore through itunes it sends info to Apple and the server sends back that it is unlocked.

So I should unlock my 4S before getting the 5s?
