I understand that many people still type the web address, but there are many people who don’t anymore.

Does it make more sense moving it to the 123 section of the keyboard and save accidental full stops when searching in the text field?

Not sure which keyboard that is, but it's already in the numbers section. My iPadPro soft keyboard looks like this:

I also use it all the time. I type in full web addresses and email addresses that need the period. It is only there when its a keyboard for email addresses or web addresses. If you are in Notes for instance, it isn't there.

I find it very useful. I've also never accidentally hit it; Only purposefully.

I don’t have a period on the right side of the space bar on my iPhone keyboard.

The keyboard is contextual. What the OP showed is the keyboard from when the Safari address bar is selected

i wish we had better keyboards to chose from and/or be able to increase the letter size. Fat fingers, I mistype all the time. So much faster when i had android

There are third party keyboards that can be installed and used.

In my experience, iOS and 3rd party keyboards, don’t work well together. It’s the one thing android has over us, that and more default apps.

That used to be the case at times earlier on when support for 3rd party keyboards just came out, but it's been better for a while now.

And what do you mean by more default apps?

Being able to set default music, default calendar etc etc and etc

Well browser and email, we might have to wait until iOS 15 and up for additional apps knowing apples track record lol
The ability will be there in general and it will be up to 3rd party apps to take advantage of it as I understand.

Nah it will initially be limited to a specific set of app categories. Browser and email - I cannot remember if music was included in the first push, but all default app categories definitely were not. There have even been interviews with Craig Federichi, where he's talked about this being a starting point and seeing about adding more categories later on

In combo website/search field in web browsers I have always disliked it. I wish they gave an option to at least switch sides of space bar. In portrait view I am most likely to use space bar with right thumb and hit period too often.

And give us a freaking number row, at least on the Maxes.

Yea and even how websites are coded. I love the ones where if you just need to type numbers it gives the number pad. But darn those Canadians with letters in their zips :(
