I'm such an idiot! I'm sure most people already know this setting, but I figured I'd pass it on (not the I'm an idiot part, but this...) So, for the longest time I wondered why certain tracks on AM on ATV just sounded so flat, with a lot of bass and detail sucked out of it, even with the new lossless tracks. Some of those even sounded better on my Homepod, and I have the ATV connected to a pretty good sound system! I started fiddling with different settings, and once I turned "Reduce Loud Sounds" off, BOOM! Totally different sound! Proper bass and detail came back. I guess I've always had that setting on for movies to be a good neighbor in a multi-dwelling home. But for music, definitely needs to be off!

Now, if Apple would let us play Hi-Res on the ATV, or heck, even just stop re-sampling everything to 48kHz before output! Leave the original signal alone, Apple!
