Dose iMac with 3ghz processor supports 8gb of ram?

    Dose iMac with 3ghz processor supports 8gb of ram? will it be upgradable later?

    What does the Apple website say? I'm gonna go with no based on their website, but people (if you search this very forum) have been successful in installing 8GB.

    well the apple site says u can buy up to 4gb of ram for it.but I am not sure it is the full capacity of iMac with 3ghz processor.

    People say you can get 6 gig to work in an iMac due to issue with the chipset.

    There's a topic in the MBP section I believe about using the MBP with 6 and 8 gigs of RAM.
