Bought a Mac Mini pre-loaded with ML and would like to downgrade to SL for network purposes. I've tried booting from the SL DVD, since I have it, but it stays stuck at the Apple screen when I try.

    Any suggestions?

you can't boot anything prior to what a new machine shipped with.

If it shipped with ML, it will not run SL unless you virtualize SL.

The reason why it won't work, is because Snow Leopard does not have the device drivers needed for the new machines.

    Same thing - No.

As old-wiz mentioned the old version of OSX you can load is what came with it. Lion does not have the Ivy-Bridge Kexts needed to run on your Mac

What exact issue are you having that makes this downgrade necessary? Are you sure there is no other option?
