Meanwhile in Chicago an average of 14 people are dying each day to gang violence, we should deport those people too.

Why did Obama not deport him after learning he was an illegal alien?

Well hell with that logic we should just open the whole country up, I mean if the legal citizens break laws then come on in and help yourself.

God I wish that logic applied in other countries. I could go anywhere in the world without a care. So you'd rather not have anyone comment? Should we find an illegal immigrant prosecutor as well? Is this like one of those times where only a (insert race or ethnicity) is allowed to comment.

does that not depends on the citizens view? pretty sure everyone would agree that a crime by a foreigner is "worse"........

I'm pretty sure only the most liberal of people in Germany view the rapes and hatchet/machete attacks by refugees as equal to those crimes committed by native German's.

Like we don't have enough legal citizen issues that we have to have sanctuary cities and entice even more.

Something that could of been prevented. Better vetting with no place for illegal immigrant criminals to hide in sanctuary cities.

Real outrage for the victims and their families. In this case raped, missing teeth, broken jaw, dangling ear.

The article doesn't seem to know what a "Dreamer" is and are using the acronym DREAMer, but that acronym was created for the DREAM Act.

The proper term is DACA recipient, or someone who received status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Diaz-Garcia was granted DACA in 2013, and renewed it twice, according to Fox News.

According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, people will not be considered for DACA if they've been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, or "Three or more other misdemeanor offenses not occurring on the same date and not arising out of the same act, omission, or scheme of misconduct" or they are "otherwise deemed to pose a threat to national security or public safety."

So, this means one of two things: either USCIS missed that Diaz-Garcia has been charged or convicted of a crime, or that up until now, he has stayed out of trouble.

It's an ugly, terrible incident. But, Fox News is covering it in lurid enough detail as a way to drive through the idea that crimes committed by immigrants are somehow more important and awful. It's an ugly bit of propaganda that relies on bad statistics and post-hoc reasoning.

In June, USCIS processed 65,369 applications for DACA and rejected 730 and approved 15,513. Moreover, there are as many as 43,000 people eligible to receive DACA in Washington alone.

There's no sign that sanctuary cities "entice" immigrants to the United States. Really, the pull factors are overstated and what we see is increasing push factors—mainly violence in Central America and Mexico.

People were not really looking at it from that perspective before. I suspect that will change if nothing is done to scale back or curtail this trend.

"Pssst. We can get you to a sanctuary city if you come with use. Just cost you $$$$$"
That would be an additional enticement.
