what is normal for a dual 450MHz modual mine peaks at 60 and idles at 44 (centergrade)
60 is a bit high for the G4 7400 series
is this passive??
no it has a giga desighns blue led fan in it it has only got to 60 when running a fractal program and when i was installing some stuff.
Iused two copper coins as contact plates with some generic heatsink compound
it froze on me which was odd i'll test it for a while longer
Copper Coins like pennies???? I would reccomend lapping those down until they're perfectly smooth with the processor. 60 isn't unbearably hot in the OC world, but I don't think you want to strive for it, especially if you have gaps like that in there.
the ones i used are old english pennies about an inch wide there quite smooth on the bit that had contact with the die
copper is fine..
but using two pieces of copper means you have 4 contact points in transferrence of the heat. i seriously think you are asking for a core meltdown.
try finding a single chunk of copper and then lap it as the other user commented.
there not on top of each other there is one for each prosessor look here the ony difference is i used copper coins and generic paste http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/cube/dual_g4_cube/dual_g4_cube.html
specifically i would like an owner of a daul 450MHz tower to post his/her tempreture
You might have better luck over at cubeowner.com.
i have a thread there too
I gave it a rigorus quake 3 test and it peaked at 60 on and off 56-60 it's stable but hot
rtcw spearhead and halo all done all nice and smoth again stable.
is it possible to get a fps readout form the ut2k3 demo? if so how
not sure if this is the same thing
