Goggling and talking to coworkers is not helping my confusion. Didn't Hillary and Bernie tie in Iowa, with each of them getting 50% of the delegates. And didn't Cruz only win by one delegate while Trump and Rubio really tie for second, each winning 7 delegates? Who cares about the votes if Hillary and Bernie are both leaving the state tied in delegates, how does this make Hillary a winner?

In some of the counties, Bernie and Hillary's tie came down to a coin toss, where Hillary won that toss. In the end, it came down to less than 10 votes separating Hillary and Bernie, with Hillary winning. While that outcome was expected by the pollsters, it gave considerable momentum to Bernie, as it shows that his campaign is rather legitimate.

Call this the political variant of Ali-Foreman (Rumble in the Jungle), where now they head off to the Thrilla in Manila.

The polls were showing that Clinton was winning by a lot more than that.
