I've been using a 27" HP monitor with my mini but decided to get another HP 24" to use as a secondary. I love the way colors look on the 27" but the new 24" makes colors look very saturated and neon-colored. And the color temps are very different even though I've made sure both monitors have the same adjustments. It's driving me crazy how different they look.

Is there a simple my way my not-so-computer-literate self can fix this issue?

Thanks!

Properly calibrating a display requires some investment. You’ll want a spectrophotometer and software for it.

The good ones can adjust the displays through the software so you just mount the spectrophotometer, run the software and an hour to a couple of hours later it’ll have calibrated the display.

Best you can do without investing in gear like that is to just eyeball the settings as close to each other as you can get

Do it "by eye".
Get both up and running.
Open the displays pref pane. Click on the 24" to select it (I think you can do that).
Hold down the option key while you click "calibrate" to invoke expert mode.
Now, work your way through the calibration for the 24". You're "going by eye" here, not so much to be "correct" by Apple's settings, but rather by your own visual preferences.
I'd pay attention to the gamma and kelvin settings in particular.

More than one "run through" may be needed.
It might help to keep WRITTEN notes.

My prediction is that you can probably "get relatively close".
But that's all...

Best way to set Lumiance is to have a white paper to compare against.
Srgb should be 80-120
