Egyptian lawmakers want to ban Islamic veils in public spaces

    The veil is a Jewish tradition? Perhaps that is disinformation to encourage support for this policy.

    Well actually some orthodox sects do still encourage women to cover up.

    Wow, if that's true Muslim men all over the world have a big decision: continue to oppress their women or let their women wear Jewish garb.

    I object to the veil and Niqab on the basis that it demeans men. It propagates this Islamic rape-culture trope that women need to cover themselves up, or they're encouraging men to be sexual predators.

    Whatever dumb reason the Egyptian parliament is using to encourage the bill's passing, I think it's a good thing.

    there is a guy works at walmart here in Portland I see his wife and kid a girl maybe 10 both fully covered with just their eyes showing. of course he is wearing short sleeves and normal pants. women always get the short end of the stick in religion.

    Frankly, it's child abuse.

    Veiling is all about sexual predation and low expectations of Islamic males to behave themselves.

    Subjecting a girl of 10 to this sort of stupidity is just abusive.
