Yesterday night my eMac refused to turn on. I was about to pack it in the box when I realized that the power cable plug is a standard type. I tried another cable and BOOM - it worked.

Now I want to get the cable replaced (the makeshift one is gray and doesn't have that custom circle thing to make it fit in with the eMac). My eMac was ordered this past March, so it's still under warranty. How do I prove to them the power cable doesn't work, have them give me a new one, etc? Any help appreciated.

my guess is call apple, and they'll ship out a box for the old cable and a new cable.

Will they expect proof it's not working?
