Emergency question about Unlocking

Im out in the Caribbean on vacation. I purchased a local sim and wanted to use it with my iPhone. My phone is jailbroken but not unlocked. If I try unlocking it with iLiberty, will it erase all my programs and jailbreak it all over again?
