This can probably be achieved via hardware or software. I would really like it if my iPhone output line-level audio when sitting in a universal dock. Currently, it outputs the audio based on the volume the phone is set at. It works this way for the universal dock because it allows the remote for the dock to control volume.
The other day, I put my iPhone in the universal dock and noticed that the volume slider was having no effect on the volume of the music playing. This is exactly what I was looking for. I pulled the iPhone out and put it back in, same thing happened. I was thrilled. Then I removed the phone and blew on the dock connections. Put the phone back in and the old functionality came back. Only thing I can think of is dust blocked one of the dock pins causing the other functionality to kick in.
This is probably easier to achieve my modifying the dock then changing software, so I was wondering if anyone knew how I'd go about "eliminating" dock pins to get it to work how I want.
