    To be "evangelical" has become trendy, a fad if you will. Like any fad, many people really have no idea what it means. The reality is that people who score high on the RWA scale are very likely to support Trump, whether they are religious or not. (See Vox article on Trump and authoritarianism.) Religious non-authoritarians, sometimes referred to as "pious", are generally not drawn to Trump. For those of us who are not RWA's, the sight of Trump and his adherents feeding off each other's anger is disturbing.

    They may say that, but they'll either sit this one out or vote Trump anyway. I cannot see creedal Evangelicals voting for any pro-choice Democrat.

    On the conservative boards I have heard some would vote democrat , that was shocking.
