...it seems astounding that your $10,000+ watch will be so slow as to be nearly useless after one or two more OS revisions. What do you do with it? Sure, you can get the battery replaced but I haven't heard of Apple offering a logic board swap. So will it eventually just sit in a drawer? Can it be sold for the value of the gold?

People say, "Well, most people that can afford to drop that kind of money on a watch don't care about the longevity", but even if that's the case it's crazy how quickly it will be obsolete and only able to function as a basic timepiece.

The logic board can't be replaced on an Apple Watch. So for those who did purchase the 18 karat gold Apple Watch Edition, likely could still sell it alone for the worth based on the gold casing.

But then again, for someone that can afford over a $10,000 watch, likely isn't too concerned about the potential loss with money if they can afford a watch at that value.

In 2011 Neil deGrasse Tyson calculated that a 25¢ (least amount he would stop to pick up off the street) would be equivalent to about $45,000 to Bill Gates. I'm not even remote concerned about the uber rich that bought the S0 Edition. Why should you be concerned since they aren't and have just tossed it into the back of a draw and completely forgotten it? They have far more pressing concerns like what to do with the windfall from the new tax rates and increased income from stocks (because of the lower business taxes).:D
