I picked up the latest issue of maximum pc over the weekend and found something nice inside. On pages 60-61 of the July 2002 issue they have a peecee that has the 23" Cinema HD display attached. They used the Dr.Bott DVIator to connect to the video card. It almost looks acceptable next to the peecee tower there, but it would have looked better next to a G4 tower.

That may have been used for graphics purposes, as peecee users seem to require HUGE res. screens to do graphics while I am in paradise with 800x600! :D

While we are talking about mags, for the last several months we've been getting issues of some peecee magazine. It's like our tax dollars being paid towards evil when we don't need peecees or evil!

I just sent them an email since I noticed that in one line they call the display Alienware's, and in the next they call out the Apple 22" cinematic... The gaul of some peecee editors... sheeesh...

At least this "Alienware" has one eye, glows in the dark with a LCD, and is a quality product from somewhere in the solar system! :D

Maybe people should be careful on what they call products, or they may get emails from professional flamewar generals! :D

Hell yeah...

As a character from a movie once said...

"They do (or is it did?) NOT know who they are f*cking with!" :D Name that flick, if you can. :D

I'm not surprised that ViewSonic makes one. But, the Apple one has a higher resolution. Apple: 1920x1200, ViewSonic: 1600x1200.

BTW, I have evaluated/tested both ViewSonic and NEC LCD's and ViewSonic beats NEC hands down.

NEC only goes up to 21.3" for LCD's. See here.

Samsung makes a 24" LCD (sells for $4,000) with the same resolution as Apple's 23"

Planar Systems offers a 23.1" LCD that is also 1600x1200, for the same money as Apple's 23".

Not really, considering how they charge you ~$500 for 1" more but the same resolution as the svelte screen from Apple.

ViewSonic has excellent quality screens, that hold up over time. I actually own a LCD from ViewSonic, and it is great.
