Exchanging ATT Next purchased phone: ATT or Apple Store?

If you have problems with the phone, whether it being defects or it just doesn't work, do you need to take back to ATT store or can you go to apple store genius bar if the phone was purchased through the next program?

The phone regardless of "how" it was purchased carries apple's manufactuers warranty. Make an appt. at the genius bar to have it looked at. Simple.
