I get confused trying to read about the different carriers, radios, and technology they use so I thought I would just ask. If I understand correctly the following is true about the Verizon iPhone. I am off contract on Verizon and I plan to buy a new "Verizon" iPhone 6 outright. This will be initially activated on my Verizon plan. The FCC requires all Verizon phones to be GSM unlocked. Starting with the 5S apple has put all the radios in the same device, but only the "Verizon" models can be activated on Verizon. Therefore if I get the Verizon model and decided later to go to Cricket (AT&T's network) the phone will be unlocked and get full LTE. In short I am going to keep Verizon for now as I want to see more about this Cricket deal. I don't want to get my numbers screwed up in transition. Seems the Verizon iPhone is the way to go in my situation no?
