Extension warning message on upgrade

I got this message on the upgrade to Monterey today. I suspect it's either Dropbox or Evernote, but I have no way to tell. Does anyone know what this is coming from?

I got the same thing, the only thing I've got from Oracle is VirtualBox.

See the little house with the combination lock. That's the icon for System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Your legacy extensions might be identified there. Since they were running in Catalina, they'll run in Monterey. But they will cease to work someday.

Ahh too late - the message is gone, I don't know how to get it back? I did check Security & Privacy, I saw nothing from Oracle there - it must be part of some other app?

Check the System Information app. There is an item for Legacy Software in the left column.

Then go back to System Information. Take a look at the Extensions item. Your culprits will not be from Apple. I doubt you have more than a handful of them. I have just five non-apple extensions, but they are all shipped by Apple with the OS, and they have the same last modified date as the OS. Knowing that, you should be able to figure out which one(s) is/are legacy.

I actually checked there too when I saw it, and that section is empty too!

As the message and Chabig says, this is a long term warning about probable incompatibility with a future OS, not Monterey. Such messages were commonplace in OSes during the run up to Catalina which stopped 32 bit apps.

Thanks, I guess I won't worry about it then. It's a shame they don't give more information about it, so I could at least track it with the vendor to see if there are updates coming to eliminate it before it's too late. Oh well, they probably see it too lol.

Today I installed the latest version of Virtualbox (VirtualBox 6.1.36, released July 19) and I got the warning during the installation.

I suppose Oracle will do what they have to do when they have to do it but it would be nice if they'd get this straightened out.
