    Hello everyone,

since I am really unfamiliar with this topic, I am turning to you.

I am looking to expand my iOS development environment with external display.

Found really good offer for ultra-wide 21:9 LG monitor

Currently I own MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2014.

My question is, would I be able to get 2560x1080 resolution @ 60Hz via HDMI cable using miniDisplayPort Adapter? Looking at this one...

Found out by some answers that HDMI would not be enough here.

    Thank you.

Yes, you can. But the machine has its own HDMI port, so I don't understand why you want to include an adaptor.

Additionally, I am going to advise against a monitor with that resolution. Get a 2560 x 1440 with 33% more screen real estate.
