Hi all, I need to get an external monitor for Macbook Pro 15" Retina 2013 Model. It's mainly for photo editing and design. My budget is about $500. Any recommendations?
    Your advise is much appreciated.

Yes, as long as you have the power connected to your laptop.

The 27" 4k monitor from Dell (review also in that wire cutter article) is actually about 20 bucks cheaper than the 27" dell 2560x1440 monitor. I ordered the 4k version and it was just delivered today. I'll write back here in a day or two with my initial impressions. Cool thing about both monitors is the built in USB 3 hub.
