So I'm in college, and I'm a information systems major and a web design minor. I'm looking for a semi-decent screen that works great on both mac osx and windows. Great for web design, videos, gaming and various business softwares. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Price range <~$600
    I'd prefer under a <25'' inch screen

Since I'm using a retina display on my macbook, I'd like something pretty sharp for the monitor as well.

    Thanks

One can never go wrong with Dell's range of monitors.

I would go with either of these two - Dell UltraSharp U2413 or the Dell UltraSharp U2412M. I currently use the Dell U2410 monitor which is the predecessor to the current models.

Bear in mind that there are several 24-in monitors in the UltraSharp range and the two above are in the "traditional" 16:10 format with 1920x1200 pixels, whilst the others are in the 16:9 format with 1920x1080 pixels.

Personally, I prefer the 16:10 (1920x1200) layout better.

Thanks the Dell u2410 is actually looking quite nice. Is the text/programs crisp? I'm not expecting retina resolution (since it's not) but I don't want apps to still look good.
