Hi there,

I would like to back up few data from the internal SSD to external and run the app (VMWare) from the external SSD.

1: USB-C to SATA cable + Samsung 860 pro

Or

2: Portable Samsung T5 using USB-C to USB-C

Can you guys please advice me which method (1 or 2) will give the maximum data transfer between mac mini (2018) to external via USB-C (not thunderbolt)

Thank you for your time.

T5 isn't classified as "Pro" level but 860 Pro?

plus I can't figure out how to put Samsung 970 NVMe adaptor into Thunderbolt 3 for the maximum speed.

If you have those T5 or 860 would you mind to try the speed test on a mac mini (2018) via USB C (v3.1 or 10Gbps)
