Hi Apple fans,

This is probably not the right forum for this, and I apologise in advance. Having looked through all the other available forums, I decided this was more of a technical issue involving ripping content off the browser, so this forums seems more appropriate.

Anyway, I would like to download all those amazing Apple ads. "Mac" and "PC", they are great! I want to keep these in case one day Apple scraps the campaign. How do I download them if I don't have Quicktime Pro?

Hope someone can fill me in.

PS Shouldn't Quicktime Pro come free with new computers? I mean, they are nice enough to give us iLife (that is generous!) but why not QT? After all, Windows Media Player is free for all Windows users. Don't see anything special about QT.

Thanks!
JC

QuickTime player is free but you can only watch movies. QuickTime Pro is not free but you can export movies and save movies from the web (or apple.com really).

There are some complicated methods for saving movies without QT Pro. Google them if you're interested.

For each ad, look at the page source. Find the .mov, such as

Code:
http://movies.apple.com/movies/us/apple/getamac/apple_getamac_timemachine_480x272.mov

then file > save as

do you not see this "Download" option, after the movie fully loads? is that only because i have QTPRO?

Thanks Boast! Of course! You are right.

Actually, you don't need any extensions for downloading MOV files in Firefox. Just go to the MOV file in Firefox, click File, then click Save As.

This works in Camino too.
