As of August 1, I've been consistently producing about 225 points per day. If you look at my production history, you'll see that in the past, it's been all over the place - I've had days with 0 points followed by days with 500+ points.

It's because of the (S)Tinkers. They take so long (mostly 2 days with a G5) that one day you aren't sending a finished WU to Stanford and the next day they are finished and you get a little boost! So always look your stats for a period. Then you know what you are producing.
