I think a large part of the problem is a president that relies on twitter rather than press conferences which has forced reliable news sources to focus on it more than they otherwise would. That and people don't pay attention to corrections issued by newspapers.

The last couple of months have featured countless numbers of stories that had to be retracted because of a rush to be first to come up with an impeachment angle. Every news organization is falling all over itself to take down Trump.

That's the problem, not Tweets. They know better, but have thrown out integrity because of elitist groupthink and a sense of moral superiority.

The first step is acknowledging that this issue has pervaded both sides of the political spectrum.

Did Pelosi make a fool of herself? Yes. But so did President Trump when he tweeted and stated, multiple times, that 3 million people illegally voted. Fake news at its finest, shared by the leader of our country.

We can't just hold accountable those who we disagree with.

A lot of news outlets have been blasted as "biased" and "unprofessional", but the past few days have shown that maybe they weren't that far off. And nobody was complaining when they were reporting about the e-mails, or the timing of Comey's letter.

If you're being honest with yourself, you have to recognize that this hasn't just been occurring in the last few months. The last few years has been a rush to get the headline, or the clicks. We have a 24 hour news cycle and it's become more important to be first than to be right.

It's a HUGE problem, but certainly isn't limited to bashing Trump.

I actually like that the President uses Twitter. That way the people read exactly what he says (whether or not you agree or disagree with what he says is irrelevant) without any filter of the media. I wish more politicians would do this.

As for corrections, they need to be on the front page and not buried in the back in the middle of ads.

Of course then when the president says a blatant lie there is no context to know that on his twitter account.
