iPod touch fast app switching not working

hello my buddy is texting me telling me that fast app switching isnt working on his 3rd gen ipod touch. he can create folders and all but no fast app switching. has anyone had this issue? seems very weird

If his 3rd gen is an 8 GB its actually a 2nd gen...Only the 32 and 64 GB varieties are considered capable of multitasking.

he has 16gb.. apple site says second and third gen will multi task. can you point to where it says 32 and 64 will be only ones to multitask

edit: i see what your talking about ill inform him.. do you know why only the higher model does it and lower capacity one dont

I believe apps need to be updated to support multitasking and the 2nd gen does not support multitasking

So they can get people to spend more money.
