Hello,
My DVR only format in FAT 32 format.

I am experiencing "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" error when connecting an USB flash drive to my Mac with Monterey or Big Sur

I didn't have this issue with macOS Catalina

If I connect the media to a Windows computer, The media reads without any problem,
But I have to copy the media contents to Windows and format the media as exFAT

Then move the media contents back to the formatted media and finally I can read it in my Mac

I follow the following guide but nothing works

Any app I can use to fix this issue?

Thanks
Camelia

How big is the flash drive?
What happens if you format the drive as FAT32 in windows. Is it readable on macOS and the DVR?

As a side note, you can only format max 32gb as FAT32 in windows without 3rd party tools. I use the free version of

EDIT: Mini tool partition wizard

Format the disk with Disk Utility, choose the MS-DOS (FAT) file system format https://support.apple.com/guide/disk-utility/erase-and-reformat-a-storage-device-dskutl1407
Thank you, you are always helping me!

Yes and that is the solution for my problem, reformatting media as FAT 32 in macOS or Windows before insert in my DVR.

Thank you!
