Now, I realize that this genre will not interest a good majority of people in these forums, but you don't have to like it to participate! I like all types of music but I guess just because of the generation I am growing up with (1990) the majority of stuff I listen to is Rap/"Dance" (NOT techno) music (Anything with a good beat). A lot of stuff you will see on iTunes top 10. However I am beginning to think that all of this type of music is beginning to sound the same and is very fake and that the people who perform are vocally untalented. However, I like this music because of the good beat and it's just fun.

With ALL that said, and even though this song is WAY over-produced, it really gets me pumped in the car, working out, etc and I just really really like it which is why it's my top for 2010 thus far. Just skim through it if you have the time.

(Nicki Minaj's part is my favorite)

Now post YOUR favorite song of this year. I'm looking forward to discovering new music. I like it ALL (except country:rolleyes:)

you pose me with a tough question. I am also into the rap scene, specifically Young Money.

Currently its "I Made It" by Kevin Rudolf and the Young Money Crew(http://www.vevo.com/watch/kevin-rudolf/i-made-it-cash-money-heroes/USCMV1000003).

But it changes every day, this is only todays song :)

Like you, i listen to just about everything except country.

*edit: Ok, After doing a little more searching(didnt realize how many good albums were released in december 09), i have to add "Fed Up" by DJ Khaled/Usher/Wayne/Drake.....

**edit 2: You are going to hate me. I found another. This is probably my fav of the year, so far. Now, dont laugh, but its super catchy and probably overplayed. But its soo good.

I listen to anything (a lot of pop/cheesy stuff admittedly). First heard it Dec last year but it was released as a single this year: Fireflies - Owl City
Or failing that, Hollywood - Marina and the Diamonds

Anything from Lil' Wayne. Say what you will, I don't care.
Lately, though, Pursuit of Happiness (Nightmare) by Kid Cudi is what I like the most.
Anything by Owl City is great too.

I'm not really 'up' on the latest music, but Jim Kerr of Simple Minds started his own solo project, and the single was given away as a promo a while ago.

I actually kind of it like it more than some of Simple Minds newer stuff lately.

Refugee ...no sample, though.

specifically Young Money

I made it was mine for a while too. PLEASE do not get me started on young money. I previewed it on iTunes when it dropped and thought it was one of the suckiest albums I've ever heard. Well the other day I was on youtube and listened to them in full... It's the sickest album I have heard in a LONG TIME. It's amazing. iTunes preview does it 0% justice. I even pulled out the old blank CD's instead of my iPod so I can easily skim back and forth and FF and RW to hear verses. That CD has been on Replay for about 2 weeks now. ITS INSANE!

PLEASE do not get me started on young money.

"New sh*t" is my fav. The album was released late december tho, so it doesn't really count in this thread.

Also, I wish I was lil Chuckee. He's the man. haha Imagine all the (fill in whatever you want here) he gets. And he's what, 13? Insane!

I know it came out everywhere else in the world in 2009, but, for the U.S, Mumford & Son's only came out last month i believe.

Basically any song from that whole album would be my vote :)

A song my musician friend wrote, it blew my mind so I asked if I could use it for a showreel later in the year.
It's called twenteenten.
