FBI's 'National Security Letters' Demands Ruled Unconstitutional

    First saw this over at /., but I'll let NPR tell the story.

    While Obama does share some blame in keeping this going, I would call this more of a blow to Bush's, Cheney's, Rumsfeld's, and Gonzales' practices of how domestic investigations and acquiring information from companies in the US should work. If Corporations are people (read: Citizens United), this should not only violate the 1st as the article mentioned, but circumvent's the people's 4th Amendment rights to prevent illegal search and seizure.

    I'm sure this is going to open up a can of worms at the DoJ, as well as looking into previous incursions of this and what reparations may need to be given to those who fell victim to this. I do wonder if the DoJ will appeal. If not, score one for the little guy!

    The whole "patriot act" should be done away with along with the term homeland.
