So let me get this straight...

I go kill someone. I get off. And then some group sends me a bunch of money.

Sounds like a plan to me!

Is this a plan or are you making a threat on someones life?

    Careful what you post.

The eye roll might hint that he's being facetious.

    Or is he?

Quite obviously neither. Are you sure you are fit to own guns?

It appears to fall into one of the cautionary categories, like, those who most want to lead are probably least suited to leadership positions, and the most avid gundamentalists are probably the ones least suited to owning guns.

You're reacting this way because it's his gun. Anything regarded as evidence can basically be seized. They have to return it. Does it state anywhere that his gun will not be released?

That's wonderful. Now he can get a MP5 and spray that entire community.

I'd love an MP5. That's a German classic for sure and a collectors dream piece. Too bad they cost in the area of $20,000

Thanks for the warning. In the future, when I am planning on killing someone (which I was clearly doing because I am stupid beyond all imagination), I will keep it to myself!

His gun is being held as evidence. How is that violating his constitutional rights?

The feds are not " taking " his gun. They are holding it as part of an ongoing investigation, he'll get it back once thats over with. Its perfectly legal and is not violating anyone's rights.

Bingo. Nobody is taking his gun on a permanent basis. In fact his gun was supposed to be retuned to him after the main trial. That changed though since the feds are investigating and the gun is (and always was) part of the evidence legally seized by police. The government is not saying "sorry we are not ever going to give your gun back" they can't do that.

I doubt that this will bother Zimmerman much given that his license was re-instated, he can just buy another one which the government will never take unless they have a warrant that allows it to be used as evidence in another criminal case.

His constitutional rights are not being violated in any way shape or form - Zimmerman can still legally possess and use a firearm. Right now, he might not have one in his possession. The only snag would be if Florida law limits him to one gun regardless of it's seizure status. In that case donations would be a waste.

Really? Are you REALLY suggesting he's making a threat??

You need to be careful what you post, people will start to think you're some kind of nut job.

They are holding it as "evidence". There is no time limit on how long the investigation can last, 2, 4, 10 years.

No, the 6th amendment doesn't apply because he hasn't been charged with anything.

As pointed out previously, Zimmerman can have any gun he wants, just not that specific one so long as the investigation continues.

$12,000 can buy a lot of guns. Plus I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd give him one for free.

So IMO it's odd that you'd get so worked up over the temporary loss of that one gun in particular.

Instead of the boy crying "Wolf!" you're the man crying "Confiscation!"

And just as in the fable, you risk losing the people's attention.

If I were you, I'd pick my battles a little more carefully.

Yes, because the trial already held was shaky at best, the feds are investigating it as it might violate federal law.

However, there isn't much ground for any new trial to start on.

Once that is over with he'll get his gun back and can go back to killing random kids.

The feds aren't going to do ****, they are biding their time so their base doesn't bite their ass in the coming election.

It's been 15 days since the verdict and you have the investigation lasting years already. Thanks for the laugh.

" The feds " in case are the DOJ, the vast majority of which are not elected, they are appointed.
