So, Another WWDC over, the lack of mini's on show, dwarfed by their new family member iphone 3G.

What's the solution: betray apple and try a hacked PC? lessen my user experience or rip the darn thing apart myself?

    So is the best option:

    slap in:

    Intel Core 2 Duo T7600, Socket 478 (Mobile), 2.33 GHz, 667MHz FSB, 4MB Cache

2GB of overclocked Corsair ram and a new edition 10,000 RPM hard drive...

Should last most people. I hear the complaint's about wireless G but hey stop moaning and why don't you look at eliminating some of the devices that cause interference:

IE: Phones, microwaves and so on.

Keep your machine tidy, cool etc too.

In true fashion: Apple will do what it will when it wants on the mini, front. I would not panic, keep faith. Job's knows that he is doing. That's what supporting Apple is really about.

PC user's dont go screaming at at Intel or MB manufacturers to improve, they await new graphic cards and so on and let Microsoft do it's own old thing. So why should it be anything different will Apple.

Let them sort it in their own time. Apple Rushing Hardware, software and becoming a huge corporation is the last thing we want. Stay Faithful! the Hardware and upgrades available are plenty for anyone. If not, get a mac pro!

I'm so glad I didn't hang around waiting for the Mini to be upgraded.

I guess there will be a replacement machine some day, but it could be another six months yet...

I too was hoping for that. Instead I am going to look at picking up a Dual 2.0 ghrz g5 power mac for 700 bucks (the cost of a mini).

I also think the Mini is long overdue an update.

I'm faithful to my wife and family. I'm faithful to my moral values. But "faithful" is not a concept I apply to a for-profit company. As much as I think OSX is a well-designed system, the hardware on offer by Apple today is not appropriate or cost-effective for my needs. I don't think it is for many others either. I've used Apple computers for a long time, but if they want my money, they're going to have to fill a few gaps in their lineup pretty soon, like this summer.
