I got the latest iMac 2017 model with 1TB SSD and 580 8gb GPU and i7 CPU.
iMovie is quite slick and smooth with 4k material and I don't really notice any issues.
Using Final Cut Pro X I started noticing that even on smaller clips and bigger clips, regardless of resolution, that editing is a bit annoying because pressing space to play.. it just kinda freezes with a beachball for quarter to half a sec and then plays. Which is annoying, because you miss that first fraction of a second of a short clip that needs precise editing. Is this common, or a common newbie mistake?
When I see others do 6k clips etc they press their location in the timeline, press space, and it plays what appears instantly.. but in final cut pro x on this mac it seems not be that experience right now.
Hopefully someone recognizes this and can tell me what I might be overlooking.
