Find my iPhone needs an internet connection to relay the GPS coordinates to you.

Sorry I'm tired. What I meant to say was, that sending those coordinates might not be possible over edge (why I bolded it).

It does work on Edge though, as it supports the first generation iPhone.

    It uses cell tower triangulation.

Well I know that. Perhaps there is some limitation with being able to send GPS information over edge.

Or even, the phone couldn't get GPS or the edge connection was terribly slow. Lots of reasons I suppose. It'll take a bit of troubleshooting.

Nope, my iphone 4S just located fine using findmyiphone on 2G Edge.
It took longer to report location than all other iphones listed there but 15-20 seconds later it showed up on the map at the exact location.

Yes, try rebooting a little more often than every 4 months:D

    works on new refrigerator
    works on phones
    works on computers
    works on tablets
    works on car
    works on alarm system
    works on wifi system

Just the answer to so many problems.

    Reboot, reboot, reboot.

Roy Trenneman: Hello IT. Did you try turning it off and on again?
