Im testing the find my iPhone

Using my ipad to locate my iPhone 4
It only works when i turn wifi on in my iphone 4
Doesn't work on edge

Is this how is suppose to work or is something wrong here

Find my iPhone when not using WiFi, uses GPS.

It uses cell tower triangulation.

Well I know that. Perhaps there is some limitation with being able to send GPS information over edge.

Or even, the phone couldn't get GPS or the edge connection was terribly slow. Lots of reasons I suppose. It'll take a bit of troubleshooting.

I rebooted the phone and now i can locate it on edge

This is my first restart since june , maybe i need to do it more often ?

Nope, my iphone 4S just located fine using findmyiphone on 2G Edge.
It took longer to report location than all other iphones listed there but 15-20 seconds later it showed up on the map at the exact location.

Yes, try rebooting a little more often than every 4 months:D

if all else fails, reboot.

Works on cable tv
works on new refrigerator
works on phones
works on computers
works on tablets
works on car
works on alarm system
works on wifi system

Just the answer to so many problems.

Reboot, reboot, reboot.
