When I initially switched from Windows to PC (in 2015), I know I was able to use QuickLook to see the version of an app (.app). Or any file type with a version number. Now, whether that was the result of some behavior of another app, I have no idea.

I'm just hoping someone knows how and can explain to me what's required to achieve this.

Thanks in advance!

It will say in the preview pane in column view or in list view. Get Info too.

Quick Look shows the version number of an app for me. I just select the app and press the space bar.
